I ordered a Small Oklahoma Thunder for the medium blue color, as a costume for photo sessions- not for everyday wear. Not sure of the correct size, I had also ordered an XS of the same style from another seller, also made by Pets First but of another league/color, but it was too small- sized for a kitten. This dress in Small looked petite but was very soft, stretchy, and fit my 7lb, 17 yr old Persian cat well.While some people might consider the costume's body length short, my purpose is for photos only and not warmth or coverage... And I did notice that as the pleated skirts were full, that the corners of the skirt hung down an inch or so further than one would hope (w/risk of the skirt corners dragging in a litter box), so its good that the outfit wasn't bigger or longer, or else the corners of the skirt would have hung down more + could cause a cat to mis-step on them, or fall when jumping.The sewn-in tag of both the XS + Small, both stated that the knit material was 100%polyester, which accounts for the stretchiness + the fact that the knit fabric attracts hair + debris (not a cotton, or a cotton/poly mix as stated in their respective Ads)... Online, some sellers do list these cheerleading dresses by Pets First, as all-poly, and given the fact that the two variations I had ordered were100% poly, I suspect that all of this cut/style by Pets First are all-poly + any mention of cotton is in error. I have noticed that some sellers seem to use the word, cotton, loosely/ inaccurately so as to mean a non-specific cloth or knit fabric.Many sports-themed pet shirts/dresses such as these are listed by some sellers under a Sports category rather than a Pet category. While hard to find, I find a stretchable 95%cotton/5%spandex fabric to be the best material for a cotton knit pet shirt; and while 100%cotton sounds appealing, the all-cotton knit fabric used to make pet shirts that is frequently available is not of the same quality as cotton knit fabrics used to make human garments and will lack the proper stretch to get the costume comfortably on + off.I also found that the pet sports-themed shirts/dresses w/small cheerleader skirt fringe (by All Star Dogs) listed as 100% cotton/lycra, while w/o fabric tags, likely are a poly/lycra mix w/o any cotton... Their content is entirely different from a 95%cotton/5%spandex mix, and are instead more like a poly/lycra mix used to make heavy-duty women's form-shaping bathing suits/undergarments/girdles (which could be too hot for an animal depending on the climate and the state of their fur- such outfits should fit loosely so as to not overheat). I also found that particular lycra fabricto be so thick, firm, + sturdy, that one should make sure the pet is not getting rubbed sore by binding/movement under their arms/other areas).If the exact fabric content of pet shirts found online is important to a buyer, that can be hard to determine until the product is in hand so I usually only buy thru Prime w/free returns. If the skirt corners hang down too low as to drag or be stepped on, the last pleats could be stitched in place.I do recommend the cheerleading dresses by Pets First (though they are 100% poly and are not cotton/poly as advertised), as they are light knits, soft, stretchable, cute for special occassions.Paloma is just under 4 pounds and we ordered the smallest sizeIt looked adorable on herBought this in a small which is the size my 7 lb yorkie wears in most clothes. It was way to small. Fit smaller than an average shirt. I know cheerleaders wear short skirts but this was ridiculous so I bought the medium. The medium was way too big. Not even a chance she could wear it without getting hurt. Came way past her tail and could fit another yorkie in there.I bought this for my Maltipoo and she looks so cute in it! The material is somewhat cheap, which definitely shows after a wash or two. I’d recommend looking elsewhere unless you only want this for a couple of wears.This was Lady Amber's second purchase from your company. She enjoys wearing it so much, it seems she fights to keep it on when I need to wash it. It just looks darling on, I more than understand why she enjoys wearing it so much:) I believe this is her favorite when it comes to sportsware:) Thank you so much. This too, looks like it was made for her!!!!!It looks so adorable on my little Chiweenie; too bad that she doesn't.Purchased this for my pug, but it ran large for her. I plan to have this altered to fit for next Spurs Season because everyone at our house dresses for games.
