I picked these up for my 12 year old son in a size 5 and they are a great fit. We get a ton of snow here in Minnesota and kids everyone needs good winter boots to keep their feet warm in the sub-zero tempreatures. The boots also need to be comfortable for walking though snow and on ice. After several months of wear, these Columbia Bugaboot winter boots have held up really well and proven to do everything we needed of them. My son wears them to school, out ice fishing with his dad, out to play with friends in the snow, etc. He likes them a lot and finds them very comfortable. They are thick enough to keep the cold and snow out, and still be easy to walk in.I will say that while they can withstand a lot of wet snow, once they do get soaked, they will take some time to dry if you don't have a boot/glove dryer. Last week while my son was out ice-fishing he and some friends got into a bunch of slushy cold water (ankle deep) and soaked their boots, inside and out. After 2 days, my sons boots were still wet. Luckily we have a boot dryer and 20 minutes on that dried them completely. So while they can withstand most wet and snowy situations, if the boots do become completely soaked, you'll probably need to do something to help them dry, or you'll be waiting days to wear them again. If you don't have a boot dryer, you can help them along by turning them upside down and placing them over one of your homes heat vents, or by placing a bunch of crumpled up newspaper inside to absorb the moisture. But it takes being in a lot of wet slush (more than one normally would walk in) to get these wet. After months of my son wearing these every single day in the harsh winter here, they still look very good. They've held up well and I would definitely buy another pair when my son grows out of these. If you're looking for some serious snow boots, these are a great choice.
