TEMCo 3/4" Marine Grade Heat Shrink Tubing - 3:1 Ratio Adhesive Lined, Waterproof, 4 ft Black - for Boat Wiring, Electrical Insulation & Cable Protection

Needed it for my boat project. I have a tiller bar extension made from PVC and a painted on durable coating. When I am trimmed out, the bar tilts down and then rubs against the fiberglass seat bench of the boat. I heat shrunk this over that section of pipe to make it more durable against the rubbing. Pipe, a little over 1.25" diameter.Good base material. Adhesive properties as expected. Does not shrink as much as advertised. I would say 1.25 inch is about the lowest diameter you can shrink this to with lower, controlled heat. Its fine, it worked for me. But I doubt you could shrink this much more 1 inch diameter would probably be the absolute max shrinkage with higher, less controllable heat. Keep that in mind when ordering.Also, for a longer piece (1.5 times diameter or longer), dont forget to heat shrink the middle section first all the way around. You then want to spiral out to one of the ends. Then come back to the middle and spiral out to the other end. You must get the middle heat shrunk first, or you can get trapped air/adhesive pockets that will not come out later. I was able to install a 6 inch length piece with no pockets.Overall, I would buy this again, although with a size closer to my application. 3:1 shrink is not going to happen, at least on the 2 inch size. 2:1 at best.
