Large numbers- easy to readNot a huge selection when you need the aux backup. Cheap and programmable. Had for 6 months and so far so good.Easy to change over from the old thermostat and very simple to use.Better than thermostats 4x the price. Very easy to install. Ordered it for a heat pump a/c unit. This heat pump thermostat was very easy to install and works great.5 star for installation. 0 stars for how long it worked. 6 months was all!! Not worth the money and headache. Very disappointed ☹️☹️Replaced a failed electronic thermostat for a heat pump. Instructions were well presented and wiring was industry standard. Controls heat and A/C as expectedThis was easy for the electrician neighbor to hook up.The problems start when you try to program it.It uses military time. You have to schedule 4 different temperatures a day,for each day of the week! We are at home all day we only need 2 temperature changes. My husband missed the times by an hour or 2 each way SO instead of telling him to try again, his broken leg makes everything so hard,I am still manually changing the temperature twice a day anyway. This is why we bought a new thermostat to begin with.Works well with heatpumps by providing support for both energized cold or hot switchover valves. this makes it easier to use regardless of how the unit is configured. Also by moving the thermostat away from unit provides a more consistent heating and cooling cycle. Just two items I wish were different would be support for both low and high speed fan (not a big deal as I selected high) as well as a 7 day programmable calendar rather than 5 day plus saturday plus sunday. in other words you need to program 3 times instead of just once. Again does not take away from the value at all, simply adds a little more one time effort.Bought one and returned it as it didn't work. When calling for heat the thermostat presented >300 Ohms from R to W1 (instead of ~0) which meant that not enough AC voltage was presented to the furnace control unit to trigger heat. Returned the thermostat for a new one, and the replacement had exactly the same problem. Too bad they didn't work, as the unit is easy to install and use and has a nice bright backlit display.Ended up buying a Honeywell thermostat which works great. You get what you pay for. I do like the functionality of the thermostat. However setup instructions are a little vague: they don't tell you how to actually seperate the plastic wallplate from the thermostat body (i used a screwdriver and carefully pried all along the outside) and more importantly they only include the wiring set up for some of the heat/cool systems that are listed as compatible. For a 2 wire system ie "millivolt conventional system" (for my gas fireplace), through process of elimination, I found that wiring "W/E" and "R" with "system switch" of "EMH" worked. Figuring that out was really more painful than it had to be. Programming instructions were much better. We had installed this thermostat and found the fan running all the time, whether the fan function was on or off it ran. Our furnace was due for a maintenance and was advised the thermostat causes this and probably not the best. So i have installed a smart thermostat and works alot better.
