I picked these up for my 12 year old son in a size 5 and they are a great fit. We get a ton of snow here in Minnesota and kids everyone needs good winter boots to keep their feet warm in the sub-zero tempreatures. The boots also need to be comfortable for walking though snow and on ice. After several months of wear, these Columbia Bugaboot winter boots have held up really well and proven to do everything we needed of them. My son wears them to school, out ice fishing with his dad, out to play with friends in the snow, etc. He likes them a lot and finds them very comfortable. They are thick enough to keep the cold and snow out, and still be easy to walk in.I will say that while they can withstand a lot of wet snow, once they do get soaked, they will take some time to dry if you don't have a boot/glove dryer. Last week while my son was out ice-fishing he and some friends got into a bunch of slushy cold water (ankle deep) and soaked their boots, inside and out. After 2 days, my sons boots were still wet. Luckily we have a boot dryer and 20 minutes on that dried them completely. So while they can withstand most wet and snowy situations, if the boots do become completely soaked, you'll probably need to do something to help them dry, or you'll be waiting days to wear them again. If you don't have a boot dryer, you can help them along by turning them upside down and placing them over one of your homes heat vents, or by placing a bunch of crumpled up newspaper inside to absorb the moisture. But it takes being in a lot of wet slush (more than one normally would walk in) to get these wet. After months of my son wearing these every single day in the harsh winter here, they still look very good. They've held up well and I would definitely buy another pair when my son grows out of these. If you're looking for some serious snow boots, these are a great choice.I bought these boots for myself, I normally wear a size 7.5/8 women's and ordered these in a size 6 (kids sizing is different from adult sizing). The boots are cute and easy to get on and off. The ankle area is a bit slim, but not so tight that you have to struggle. However, I would have liked a little more cushion inside the boot. The inside of the shoe feels very roomy, plenty of space for bulky socks or toe warmers. Where the ankle narrows, there is a spot that rubs which would be uncomfortable for long walks (where the leather meets the stitching on the outside ankle). I think some more padding around the ankle would have avoided this.I purchased these boots last winter for my then 8 year old boy. They kept him warm through our coldest winter time and held up. I bought them just a little big so he could wear thick socks and make it through the winter without out-growing the boots. He did not grow as much as I thought he would and likes them so much that he is using the boots again this winter. They still look like almost brand new boots and I am impressed since my son is extremely rough on shoes and tears them apart with dragging his feet and rough play. When he out grows them I will be looking to buy the same boot in a new size.Purchased these Bugaboots for my 12 yr old son. He walks home about 1/2 mile in the snow from the school bus stop, and he and my hubby are ice fishing enthusiasts. These boots have proven to keep his feet nice and toasty and comfortable after being in them for a long period of time. I love how sturdy they are - all the way up past the ankle. These boots are very well made, and they look pretty "cool"...("cool" is a must for my son since at this age they don't usually go for those bulky "ugly" snow boots...gotta look "cool"!!) Great purchase. These boots are sturdy as all get-out, yet not heavy. Unseasonably warm temps have meant we haven't yet tested how well they keep feet warm, but they've done a good job in very wet conditions so far. (My son loved the look and the "tough guy" feel of them so much, he wanted to wear them even though it's not really cold enough outside IMHO.) They've been filthy muddy and hosed off to look pretty much as good as new, which is a plus.I purchased these for my now 7 year old when he was 5, now my then 3 year old, now 5 is wearing them and they still look brand new. These will hit the donation box next year and hopefully a child in need of a great pair of winter boots will get a perfect pair of name brand boots that are STILL in perfect shape. Columbia Bugaboo's are always a great boot. This model is worse than the old model. The inner lining is thinner , it became more difficult to wear (inconvenient to untie shoelaces). Not afraid of the mud and water. I recommend them for active childrenThey were good for warmth but they only have a small amount of a layer inside and they are leaking. I bought Sorel boots off this site for myself and next time will order those for my son. Hopefully his feet will stop growing lol.ColumbiaEin Stiefel wie man ihn mag. Tatsächliche Grösse bestellen und der Schuh passt.Sehr warm, keine weiteren Socken notwendig, perfekt.
