I had left it at the condo knowing the A/C service tech was coming and he had volunteered to install it. For whatever reason, he said we needed to have our wi-fi change to a 2.6 ghz connection.When I arrived at the condo, after several attempts, I was able to connect it with the Residio app. As for settings, I wasn't all that clear what some of the choices were but I muddled through it assuming I'd figure it out later.My reason for buying it is the beach condo will be non-rented for 3 or 4 months and wanted to be able to raise the temp inside in case of a freeze or not having it set on 75 for days when it is not rented. I also wanted to limit the range of temps to keep guests from setting the thermostat below what the heat pump is capable of achieving.
