Bought my grill about 18 months ago and within 1st year I had small areas of original heat plate showing rust and break through. I pondered ordering a replacement one from Char Broil and then found this. After reading reviews, I ordered hoping for the best. When I received it, it was way heavier than the original. Thicker too. I can tell it's going to last way longer so the extra cost is not a problem for me. Used it once already and it did great. Heat seemed to be more uniform. If you don't mind paying more for something that will last longer than multiple cheap replacements, this is your product. BTW: Fit is perfect.
