I injured my thumb in December of 2017, injuring the distal artery and nerve into the R thumb. I live in Maine, where the cold can be intense. I walk to and from work and the cold would really bother my injured thumb unless I put my hand in my pocket. I really did not want to do this, as a good part of the time my walk is on snow and ice covered sidewalks and streets. I was actually looking for battery powered heated gloves when I saw these gloves. I did not want to pay for the heated gloves for what I hope is a short term injury.I decided to try these gloves and I am glad I did! I have had them for two weeks now and have worn them to and from work everyday. I have walked in temps from -5F to 20F and on all occasions both hands and in particular the injured thumb have been warm, not just body temp, but noticeably warmer! Even in the minus 5!I had to use a snowblower one day after I got home from work and the gloves got wet and by wet I mean sopping where I was getting snow on them from the snowblower and the snow and wiping snow off the blower. It was really coming down! I took the gloves off and left them on my back porch, forgetting that I would need them again at 4am to walk to work. That next morning, realizing they were still wet, having been covered up by other clothes, I thought, well, this will be a great test of these gloves. Temperature was around 10F and I carried another pair of gloves in case the Heat Holders left me cold. They did their job even while being wet! My hands were warm all the way to work and never put them in my pocket. I am hoping that they last over time as well as they have so far. I have absolutely no complaints!! I will be buying more of these and will also be trying their socks and hats.Update: I still love these gloves as they are still warm, almost as warm as the heated gloves my workplace bought for me. But, that being said, I am going to have to knock them a bit, the thumb on the left glove has a problem where the knit is coming apart at the very end of the thumb. I was a little worried about the durability of these gloves so they have only had light duty. I wear them to walk to work, drive the car, etc, but do not work in them. I think I can take a needle and thread and save the gloves, but I was hoping for gloves that did not need repair within a month of buying them.
