For the answered question: Is it fireproof- NO!!!It's made from recycled plastic bottles. I flamed a corner to test it, just a lit match and 3 seconds, it was self-sustaining flame.I would not use this anywhere near an engine compartment. Any small fire can turn disastrous because of this stuff.*With that said- the price is right and is working perfectly in my trunk and doors. Using the 3M Super 77 spray (also bought here), this bonds perfectly to the inside of my door panels and pre-formed trunk carpet sections, to make things substantially quieter and cooler than before.*Please buy the glass spun aluminized product made for the purpose of going in the engine compartment.*Combined with Dynamat Extreme for super quiet ride that no one else has. Get your zen back!
