Vornado review 2/10/22 Consumer, not paid, just giving a good product and company it’s due.Well, I can’t make this short, but as informative and helpful as possible.I should be a rep. for these heaters, I love them. No other electric heater I’ve found (and ALOT of research) heats a space faster & easier. But I must first extend my gratitude for a company that still holds extra service, and stands fully behind their product.Their base is in the US, and relating in understandable English is so very helpful. Yes, like all else, the units are pretty much forced to be made in China, and there will be crap-but they take care of anything that isn’t up to standard. Wow.I had started a replacement customer service contact a long time ago with the manager Harold. He’s passed now, but I believe even the young reps know his legacy.Paula, Charles, Blanca & Alison....all very kind and helpful. The product:Alot of people don’t get how they work at first. It’s a different technology than the usual heaters most are familiar with.Vornado’s have less initial heat that comes out,but the heat is more evenly circulated. It’s a little illusional at first...there’s no “warm pockets” around the heater, leaving the floor cold & the ceiling hot. With the Vornado, the whole room temp. consistently goes up more evenly. The velocity line they offer just amplifies all this.I just received a replacement velocity 5. (Small, digital temp, 3 heat settings and a fan mode-no remote) I set it as normal, forgot about it.But when I walked to the back of my 35’ RV bedroom....there was no temp difference. (It’s usually lower, even with the normal Vornado)Then I just noticed...the whole place was just warm and comfortable.Wow.That said, there’s many models to choose from, with some big trade offs. Its a little confusing (ESPECIALLY the numbers and letters for different models!!! Who’s brainiac model designer wanted to confuse the entire space heater world, and ALL your poor reps that deal with THAT every day!??)I cannot go into all the details.(Digital temp, dial temp, low high Med heat settings, variable temp speed,size, color (RED?!?) But I decided on the Velocity 3R.(The round model)This thing BLASTS...and ROARS!I liked the 3 heat choices (1500 watts, 1200 watts, 750 watts)Depending on the circuit loads I have, I can choose, and all circulate well.However, 1500 sounds like a wind tunnel.Hard to fully get used to.The trick & UPSIDE, is to blast it first at 1500, then set it to Med or low, which both of those settings are quieter, but probably as much air as a normal Vornado?I also think the velocity 5 (close to the same as the 3R, but square) was quieter? It still blasted air, but maybe not as much?It also only had 2 heat settings, and it auto adjusted depending on the temp. I personally did not like that, but some will.I’d suggest reading up on them all,and when it gets too much, call themand they can help. Just have your model number!!!!Because even WITH it,you will STILL ALL be confused !!!! (I’m still dreaming #’s VMH 500, 3R, 5.... WXYZ12345 !!)Good luck all, stay warm, and be glad we only have our manufacturing outsourced, but still some good ol US of A folks keeping one foot on our soil ! Markus
