I purchased this pan because I wanted something that would cook meats and sausages better than my regular skillet. It's definitely a noteworthy grill pan for stove top use. My husband and I noticed a total difference in our food after using this pan instead of regular nonstick skillets with flat bottoms. The amount of splatter is much less with this grill pan, but it's not eliminated & the perforated lid is a nice feature and useful. My pan came with the silicone safety grips intended to be used when grabbing the side handles during cooking (they get very hot just like the pan), but I find them to be somewhat a nuisance because they are too long and the heat generated under the pan still feels hot to your exposed finger/hand tops. I prefer to use my heat gloves for easy grabbing and holding if necessary. Cleaning this grill pan has been super easy too. I just add some water to the pan and put the heat on and "deglaze" the pan and any crusted on drippings first before actually cleaning the pan. After that, it comes completely clean with some soapy suds and warm water. The pan looks exactly like it did new after every wash. I haven't used the dishwasher with this so I can't comment on it, but it cleans up so easy with a quick handwash it almost seems unnecessary to throw it in the dishwasher. My little trick for grease is get yourself a used up/empty glass pasta sauce jar or salsa jar and just pour that grease right into it before it hardens. Put the lid on and pop it into the freezer until next time... easy peasy! Definitely buy this pan if you're looking for a lightweight alternative to cast iron and don't want to grill outside. I'm happy I bought it and would definitely recommend it to others. Our meats & veggies look and taste like they've been grilled which is why we bought this type of pan in the first place. 100% satisfied ?
