This jacket has been constructed with up to date warm thermal lining. It should be enough by itself on cool days. You may need to wear a light sweater under it on colder days. It is short and cut close to the body, very stylish. As stated by other reviewers, this style may be a problem to some. I ordered a Medium and it is almost like a Small, but this is a good fit for me. The sleeves are a bit too long. Forget about rolling it because it will just show the silvery thermal lining. This jacket is not bulky as others that I checked. It will go from raking leaves in early Autumn to an informal party later that night. The cut is a little tight, the sleeves a little too long, but it looks and feels good. My only real complaint is that the metallic liner comes down the sleeves too far. It is exposed when I roll the sleeves up, and I would rather it didn't. Either a different liner in that area or no liner in the sleeves at all would be much better. The shirt is wonderful - BUT it was too small for the person I bought it for - he wears a 2x which is what I bought and it was tight with just a tee shirt under it. Fortunately it fit his son just fine and he loves it!!!This is a very nice, well made shirt jacket that will keep you warm. I usually wear a heavy weight henley or a waffle weave pull-over shirt under it, and have been comfortable in temperatures as low as the mid twenties. Another nice feature is the hand warmer pockets that are lined with the "omni Heat" material which keeps your hands very warm. I highly recommend this shirt jacket to anyone who wants warmth without the weight. This thing is a miracle. It's saved me on many occasions where I didn't expect great cold or wetness and has always proven to be useful when I am not cold at all but I can wrap it around my wife to keep her warm. She loves it - it's soft on the inside, keeps you warm without choking you out or being too hot, and it looks good to boot.Wasn't sure what I was getting when I order the shirt-jacket. It fits well, but don't think of it as a jacket, it is a shirt. Has the feel of wool, but it has an excellent, light, warm lining. It is good for being out on a cool day or to keep comfortable with the thermostat turned down a bit.The real jacket is not like what I thought. It is very thick and heavy, more like a jacket than a shirt.Best jacket I ever had. I lost it in a car accident I believe the man that rescued me still has it or atleast I hope he does because it kept me warm and dry through the toughest and hopefully most trying period of my life.
